Fling Island is a pristine, uninhabited island in East Penobscot Bay with 17+/- acres, 4,950+/- feet of shorefront and excellent views in all directions including spectacular sunset views looking back over the islands to the Camden Hills. Conveniently located off Deer Isle and close to the islands of Eagle, Butter and Bear, the island is mostly wooded and there are open areas defined by natural shrubs, ferns and grass. The bold and varied shoreline includes dramatic bluffs on the eastern side, with views of Eagle Island, and it is lined with pocket beaches and smooth ledge on the south, west and north sides of the island. The island presents conservation opportunities, and it is suitable for seasonal residential development - an engineering report and land use analysis is available. The island can be readily accessed from Camden, Rockport, North Haven, or Sylvester Cove in Deer Isle; or the neighboring Eagle Island, which is accessible by mailboat.
